Fundraising Activities
Freewheelers EVS needs around £20,000
each year to
provide its service to the NHS. We are a registered charity and depend
entirely
on collections at events such as bike shows and donations from
companies, clubs and individuals. In 2008 we are aiming to raise an extra £20,000 to purchase new bikes. Our oldest bike, a 2002 Honda ST1300 Pan-European, now has 85,000 miles on the clock.

Freewheelers Collections
Throughout the year Freewheelers holds a number of
collections
at bike shows, street fairs and other community events. These
collections are an important source of funding as they account
for 50% of the money we raise. Here is a list of the collections
that we are holding this year. If you want to help us by coming
along to shake a bucket you would be most welcome! Take a look at the
collections on our events page
or get in touch through our contact
page.
At most of our collections we feature a Tombola,
which is a popular money raiser. If you would like to donate prizes for
the Tombola, please get in touch.
eBay
Auctions
Freewheelers EVS is now raising money through the
auction site eBay. There are a number of ways that you can help us.
First, you can bid for items that we are selling
on eBay. See our auction
page for a list of items currently being auctioned.
Second, you can donate items to Freewheelers for
us to auction. Freewheelers has a special charity account on eBay which
ensures that we receive 100% of the money received for any item that we
auction. If you live in the Bath, Bristol or Somerset area, we would
even be happy to collect your item. Simply get in touch through the contact page and we will
arrange for one of our members to visit you and collect the
item.
Third, if you have any money just lying about in
your
PayPal account, then use the button on the left to make a donation to
Freewheelers,
or simply make a PayPal payment to donation@freewheelers.org.uk
Finally you can sell your own items on eBay and
automatically donate all, or a percentage of the auction proceeds to
Freewheelers.
If you already have an eBay account then selling on our behalf is easy.
You will need to register with eBay for Charity and then add "Freewheelers
Emergency Voluntary Service" to your list of favourite charities. Then,
whenever you list an item for sale on eBay you can choose to donate
between 10% and 100% of the proceeds to Freewheelers. An added benefit
of this approach is that MissionFish can recover the tax on your
donation through Gift Aid, so giving us an extra 28%. To get started
visit Freewheelers
eBay for Charity page and click "Sell".
If you have any questions about using eBay to
benefit Freewheelers then please don't hesitate to get in touch.

How you can raise money for Freewheelers
A number of fundraising events are run by other
people for the
benefit of Freewheelers EVS. A good example is the Christian Motorcyclists'
Association
who run a bike show each year to raise money for us.
If your group wishes to hold a fundraising event
for
Freewheelers EVS and would like us to attend with one of our
bikes, please get in contact as early as possible using the form
on our contacts page
or phone
one of the charity's officers. Subject to operational constraints
we will normally be happy to supply a bike and rider. We can help
to promote your group and your event by putting links on our
website. We also have a superb
cut-out bike which we will be happy to loan. We would also be
very happy to publicise your event here on our website.
