About Freewheelers EVS

The "About Us" section of the website contains information about Freewheelers EVS, who we are, what we do, where we operate, our safety standards and finally how you can volunteer to join us or setup a similar group. Pages in this section include:

  • About our service describes the basics of our operation i.e. what we carry and when we do it
  • Our coverage area shows where we operate from Devizes in the east to Minehead in the west - an area of 4,335 km2
  • Our health and safety policy states how we comply with important standards such as UN3373, which governs the safe transport of potentially infectious substances such as blood and tissue samples
  • Statistics that show how our service has grown over the years
  • How you can volunteer to help Freewheelers as a rider, telephone coordinator or fundraiser
  • Interviews with Freewheelers volunteers allow you to see the human side of the people that work for us, and understand what motivates them to give up so much time to help others
  • A rogues gallery that shows the faces of our volunteers past and present, with links to the original photos on our SmugMug site allowing you to see them in scary high definition.
  • Information on starting up a new blood bike charity, which is useful if there is not a National Association of Blood Bikes group operating in your area
  • The Flying Crane Blog, written for the children of All Hallows School who bought us a new bike in 2010. Feel free to read the blog even if you aren't of school age, you may find some of the content interesting.
