| Donating to Freewheelers EVS |
|
Freewheelers EVS is a registered charity (No.1001067)entirely supported by donations and sponsorship. We do not charge the NHS for our services. None of our riders or co-ordinators are paid for the of time that they give to the charity.
In 2012, Freewheelers expects to handle 4,100 calls and cover around 140,000 miles. Running costs for the three in-service bikes and our standby bikes are around 25 pence per mile. This covers expenses like fuel (£16,500 in 2011 and rising), maintenance, tyres, road tax, and insurance. As each bike does at least 30,000 miles each year, we also have a rolling replacement programme. This is essential to ensure that we continue to provide a reliable and immediate service to hospitals in our area. Every donation, no matter how small, helps us to deliver our valuable and free services to the NHS. Throughout the year we attend a number of events where we hold collections. Our fund raising page has more information on this and other ways we are aiming to raise money. If your group is holding a fundraising event for Freewheelers EVS and would like us to attend with one of our bikes, please get in contact as early as possible through our contacts page. Subject to operational constraints we will normally be happy to supply a bike and rider. Sponsored Events
If you prefer, you can setup a sponsorship page using BT's MyDonate service as an alternative. It is similar to the market leading JustGiving, but it results in us receiving slightly more money. Of course, you can still collect your sponsorship in the traditional way - just download our Sponsorship & Gift Aid Form. |
