| Freewheelers supports Precious Drops breast milk bank |

Freewheelers EVS is happy to support the Precious Drops Campaign, which is raising funds to establish a breast milk bank at Southmead Hospital. Babies in neonatal intensive care units (NICU) across the region will be fed breast milk expressed by donor mothers. This breast milk is frozen at home, transported to the breast milk bank for testing and pasteurisation before storage prior distribution as and when it is needed. Freewheelers will be providing that distribution service, collecting milk from donors who are unable to get to Southmead themselves, and delivering breast milk from the breast milk bank to NICU's across the region. The video below shows a visit by Freewheelers volunteers to the NICU at Southmead, where Steve Haberfield who is raising funds for the United Kingdom Association for Milk Banking (UKAMB) stopped off during his marathon cycle ride from John O'Groats to Lands End. There are also a number of pictures of the meeting in our photo gallery.
