Call Statistics The graph on the right shows Freewheelers EVS calls have continued to rise due to growth in the demand for our service and from Aug 2017 when we were one of the first few bloodbike groups to start delivering blood products daily to our two local air ambulance charities. Since 2003, we have seen our call volumes increase x 10 to over 6000 calls per year and in 2018 we covered 179,400 miles. Each urgent and non-urgent call enables the NHS to redirect its funds. Each emergency call helps to save the life of a patient.
What we carry Just to give you a flavour of what we carry - looking at the pie chart to the left lists our top 7 categories. Overall, of the items we deliver, 60% are samples and 21% are medication. We are told that 70% of medical intervention requires testing in Pathology / Microbiology. We therefore have a significant impact on the prompt treatment of local patients.
